Homeopathic Pellets: Keep 30C and HPUS out of a Milligram Supplement Ranking

Recognize dilution notation and pharmacopoeia references before importing a pellet listing into a botanical-supplement table.

We have not performed hands-on testing of the products discussed. Manufacturer references and official guidance support the documented information below; comparison exercises are our editorial guidance.

A botanical name can appear on both a supplement search page and a homeopathic product. Letters beside the number may look like a strength code, but they belong to a different labeling context. Comparing the largest number can therefore create a false ranking. This guide examines the notation and documents needed to identify a homeopathic pellet, without recommending it or evaluating its advertised effects.

Retain the letters in the product option

Boiron’s consulted Arnica montana page offers options including 30C, 6C, 200CK and 30X. The manufacturer-submitted 30C Bonus Pack label available through DailyMed identifies a homeopathic product and explains that C, K, CK and X indicate homeopathic dilutions. Preserve the entire notation when recording the option. Dropping the letter and retaining only a number changes the meaning of the manufacturer’s identifier.

Do not turn a notation into a plant-mass statement

The consulted label’s active-ingredient line combines Arnica montana, 30C, HPUS and a parenthetical mass. Keep that line intact rather than rewriting it as an equivalent amount of ordinary botanical material. The label explains HPUS as a reference to a monograph in the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia of the United States. That reference is a different field from dilution notation, package pellet count and FDA approval status. None supplies a milligram conversion to a botanical supplement.

Separate listing records from approval

FDA’s homeopathic-products explanation identifies the word homeopathic, scientific ingredient names and dilution expressions such as X or C as labeling clues. It also states that no products labeled homeopathic are FDA approved. The DailyMed record’s presence therefore should not be translated into an approval badge. Its marketing-information section identifies the category as unapproved homeopathic. Preserve the record and its revision date as label evidence, without adopting the claims printed elsewhere in the label.

Worked example: correct a misleading search comparison

Suppose an illustrative comparison collects a 30C pellet and an unrelated botanical capsule, removes the letters and sorts the remaining numbers from highest to lowest. Undo the sort and create a separate homeopathic record. Save the exact product option, full active-ingredient line, pharmacopoeia reference and complete package documentation. Leave any botanical-mass equivalence field blank. Do not estimate residual amounts, infer stronger effects from a larger dilution number, or convert pellet counts into capsule servings. The purpose is to identify a different merchandise category before a purchase decision proceeds. If a seller supplies only a short title, request the full matching carton rather than borrowing another dilution’s document. This documentation exercise provides no ingestion instructions, clinical comparison or assurance that a product is suitable for a particular person.
